Dahlias are the gardens' firework show, with their many layers and bright colors. The petals are painted loose with lots of texture to bring the flower to life off the canvas. 
 
I often paint little sketch oil paintings as a study for a larger painting. But sometimes I just do it for fun. Little oil paintings are very enjoyable to create and add something very special to any nook in your home. They make beautiful gifts too!
