About my art

As a young girl, I noticed a theme in my life that turned into a mantra “Make the world beautiful.” This statement has woven through all the work I create, and the reason I do it. We all have a sphere of influence and I strive to make my mark on a world that can use more beauty because beauty gives health to the soul.

With an impressionistic style, I paint landscapes with bright and unexpected colors. I am fascinated by subtle details in nature. I enjoy capturing the hidden beauty in the world that requires seeking out. Things like the smooth curve of the agave plant, gnarled branches on a tree, and the bright moss on rocks by the ocean all inspire me to paint. I have had many mentors dead and alive who shaped my style, Georgia O'Keefe, Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, and Erin Hanson.

Alongside painting, I love to travel. I have visited the Amalfi Coast, Rome, France, and 16 of the 63 national parks (so far). You could find me hiking through the National Parks taking photos to paint or being inspired by deceased masters in Europe. While I paint, I try to capture the charm and feeling I had in my favorite places. I want to give people the feeling of wandering around and finding wonder in unexpected places.
